WE HAVE REOPENED!
Thank you for your patience as we worked through this current COVID-19 set back. We have reopened and are resuming our appointments and surgeries as previously scheduled. Please call our office to confirm or reschedule your pets’ appointments.
We will be open as of September 10, 2020: Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 5:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm

Important Update as of September 7, 2020

To Our Valued Clients,
Despite all of our efforts for safety and sanitation, our team has been exposed to COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic will be temporarily closed until further notice. We are working diligently to reopen as soon as possible while keeping the health and well being of our staff and clients a top priority.
All appointments scheduled for September 8th are cancelled. All appointments scheduled for September 9th through September 11th are temporarily suspended. You will be contacted as soon as possible to either reschedule your pet’s appointment or to confirm that we have reopened.
Please check our website, www.hillsboroughvetclinic.com, for any additional updates. From our website you also have access to your pet’s medical records and can order food, supplies and medications from our online pharmacy.
If your pet is in need of medications, please leave us a detailed message at 919-732-9969 or send us an email at [email protected] We will do all we can to ensure your pet has any needed medications during this time.

Updates from Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic
The staff of Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic would like to express our deepest gratitude to our clients who continue to entrust us with the care of their pets. We remain committed to offering the best possible care for the health and wellbeing of your furry family members.
As an essential business, we endeavor to be here for all your pets’ needs. However, many changes have been implemented to enable us to provided care and keep our clients and staff safe.
New hours:
Monday through Thursday 8:00am to 4:00pm
Closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday
Surgery and other procedures requiring anesthesia are scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Appointment procedures:
 Upon arrival at our clinic, please remain in your vehicle and call us to let us know you are here.
 You will speak with a staff member over the phone to provide the reason for your pet’s visit and relay any relevant history of your pet
 A staff member will come out to your vehicle to retrieve your pet and bring them into the clinic for their exam and any required diagnostics
 We will call you at the end of the exam to review our findings and recommendations
 Payment will be taken over the phone. We prefer to email you your receipt so please be sure we have your current email address
 Your pet and any needed medications or preventatives will be brought back out to you.
Refilling medications, preventatives and diets:
While we are attempting to keep all your pets’ needed medications in stock, there remain many shortages, backorders and delivery delays. Please call ahead for needed refills. If we do not have what you need in stock, we will either: email you a prescription for our online pharmacy or call the prescription into a human pharmacy.

The staff of Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic continues to work diligently to keep our clinic open so we may continue to provided the best possible care for your pets. We, however, are unable to maintain our current hours of operation and so beginning today Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic will be closed on Fridays. We remain open Monday through Thursday from 8:00am until 4:00pm

Responding to COVID-19
Update to clinic protocols:
Yesterday you received a newsletter from us informing you of our new protocols in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
We have already had to make changes to these protocols. Beginning today March 18th, we are asking our clients to remain in their vehicles. Please do not come into the lobby. Call us from the parking lot to inform us that you are here and a staff member will come outside. Our staff will discuss any concerns and obtain pertinent history. Your pet will be brought into the clinic for the exam and diagnostics and then returned to you. Payments will be taken outside or over the phone.

If you are coming to the clinic to pick up medications or dietary items, again please do not come into the clinic. Call ahead to request products and make payments over the phone. Products will either be left in a drop box by our side door or brought out to your car.

Responding to COVID -19
In order to adhere to recommendations from government agencies and the AVMA, Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic will be implementing the following protocols. These protocols are in place to ensure the health and wellbeing of our staff and our clients.

**Please call ahead before coming to our clinic as protocols may be changing. The course of this virus is unknown and we receive updates each day.

**Please reschedule your appointment if you or a family member is ill or if anyone in your household has been traveling in the past 30 days.
We will continue to see your pets that are ill or require a rabies vaccine. However, you may be asked to remain in your vehicle, call when you arrive and a staff member will meet you in the parking lot. Please do not come in to the clinic if you are ill or have potentially been exposed to illness.

**We will continue to fill medications as needed, but encourage our clients to order from our on-line pharmacy. From our website, click on the shopping tab to be directed to our VetSource pharmacy.
In order to limit the number of people in our lobby and shorten wait times, please call ahead if you intend to pick up prescription medications or dietary items at our office and be prepared to make a payment over the phone.

**If you have been referred to a specialty hospital in the area, please contact them prior to your appointment, as they have also implemented new protocols.

**Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic has implemented additional cleaning and disinfecting protocols for our entire hospital.
