Dr. Amy Houser
Dr. Amy Houser is a 2003 graduate of North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Houser earned a B.S. in Biology, M.S. in Genetics, and an M.P.H. at the other “Carolina” in Columbia. S.C. She worked as a human genetic counselor before returning to her first love, veterinary medicine. While living abroad in Italy with her husband, she volunteered at a specialty veterinary hospital outside of Milan. She discovered the human-animal bond was the same throughout the world.
Dr. Houser worked as an Associate Veterinarian in Raleigh before starting at Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic in 2007. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but especially dermatology, orthopedics, and internal medicine. Dr. Houser considers getting to know her clients and their pets the most rewarding part of her day.
Dr. Houser and her husband, Geoff, are the proud parents of a son, Alex, and a daughter, Gianna. The newest addition to the family is Gustav, aka “Gus”, a very energetic Weimaraner. In her spare time, Dr. Houser enjoys swimming, kayaking, traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family.
