Patient Arrival Policy

For your protection, and that of others, all dogs must be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms. All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier. Thank you.

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered.

Cancellation/No Show Policy

A trip to the vet can be time consuming and stressful. In order to offer you and your pet the best possible experience, we strive to schedule our appointments appropriately.  We set aside time so our doctors and staff can thoroughly and compassionately attend to the needs of your pet.

We, at Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic understand that sometimes you need to cancel or reschedule your pet’s appointment.  Any number of unexpected events can interfere with our best laid plans.  We kindly ask that you give us 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your pet’s appointment.  This allows us the time to offer another pet an appointment to receive the medical care they need.

In order for our staff to remain on schedule and to allow adequate time to properly care for all pets, we are implementing a cancellation policy.

Being more than 15 minutes late for your appointment is considered a “no-show” and we may ask you to reschedule.

If you do not cancel or reschedule within 24 hours, or are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, or do not show for your appointment at all, the following fees and payment arrangements will be incurred.

The first time there is a late cancellation or failure to arrive on time, or at all, there will be no charge to the client. A second occurrence will result in you being charged a $25 fee and you will be required to pre-pay $50 towards your rescheduled appointment.  Pre-payments will be applied to your next visit’s total provided you arrive on time.  Failure to keep rescheduled appointments will result in the deposit being non-refundable.  If there is a third occurrence within a year, you will be discharged from the practice.

We ask the same 24-hour advanced notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your pet’s surgery appointment.  Without proper notice, there will be a $100 cancellation fee and you will be required to pre-pay for half the estimated cost of the surgical procedure when rescheduling.  Pre-payments will be applied to the total balance due after the procedure or forfeited if you do not show a second time.
