Annual wellness exams evaluate your pet’s overall health, detect problems before they get serious, and keep them on track to living a long, healthy life.
Our on-site equipment provides high-quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders. Our system also enables us to easily send images to a board-certified radiologist for review.
Pet dental care is an important piece of the wellness program for any pet. Thorough oral exams and teeth cleaning are performed under anesthesia for your pet’s health and safety.
Our veterinarians can meet many of your pet’s surgical needs, from spays and neuters to more extensive soft tissue procedures and even minor orthopedic surgeries.
Our team includes veterinarians who have been certified in Veterinary Acupuncture by the Chi Institute. Our acupuncture exams are based on Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. After an initial exam and consultation, the veterinarian will prepare an appropriate acupuncture treatment plan for your pet. Acupuncture involves the placing of needles in certain points that help treat pain, inflammation, and other symptoms associated with various illnesses. Acupuncture is great therapy for almost any pet, especially athletes and geriatrics.
A surgery-free, drug-free, noninvasive treatment to reduce pain, reduce inflammation, and speed healing.
Ultrasound is excellent at evaluating your pet’s internal organs. An ultrasound is usually recommended when our doctors find abnormalities on bloodwork or x-rays, or to monitor a disease process.
By scheduling an exam for your new puppy or kitten, you’re establishing health routines that will help them live longer, healthier lives. Initial visits include complete physical exams and checking for internal and external parasites. We will begin a vaccine series, scheduling booster vaccines every 3 weeks until they are about 18 weeks old. Puppies and kittens will also be started on lifelong flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives.
Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, and parasite testing. We also utilize off-site veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, supplements, shampoos, flea and tick control products, and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets. Products that are not available in our clinic, can be found on our online pharmacy.
Microchipping is the only unique, tamper-proof, permanent form of identification that owners can provide their pets.
Pets over the age of seven are considered seniors. Our goal for the golden years of your pet’s life is to provide a healthy, comfortable, long life. The best way to do this is to catch diseases early with annual or semi-annual labwork, radiographs, abdominal ultrasounds, and complete physical exams. If illnesses and diseases are diagnosed and treated early, years and comfort can be added to your pet’s life.
Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. At Hillsborough Veterinary Clinic we realize this and work with our clients to ensure their pet’s comfort and dignity.
